Darvin Dean Redding, 79, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2018. He was born on March 20, 1938 in York, Pennsylvania to Nora Redding Eisenhart.
Darvin grew up in York, Pennsylvania and in 1956 he joined the U.S. Navy. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked at Wilbur Hoskin Plumbing Company in York, Pennsylvania until 1966. He moved to Atlanta in 1966 and was a commercial plumbing/HVAC specialist for several metro Atlanta area companies. In 1976, he started D.J. & S. Sheet Metal in Atlanta, Georgia, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2008. He not only took pride in his business, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business.
Darvin married Sandra Goddard in 1968 in Atlanta, Georgia. They were happily married for 49 years. Darvin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid Georgia Tech and Penn State fan. He was also an avid golfer and a longtime member of Highland Golf Club in Conyers, Georgia.
Darvin was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Redding Eisenhart and sister, Shirley Eisenhart.
Darvin is survived by his spouse Sandra Redding; daughter Jennifer Rewis; son-in-law Charles Rewis; granddaughter Amelia Rewis; brothers William Eisenhart and Terry Eisenhart; and a nephew and other relatives.
In keeping with the wishes of Darvin, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Salvation Army. Condolences may be left on Darvin’s online tribute wall at www.billheadfuneralhome.com.
