A native of Columbia, SC, Mrs. Hastings was retired as a Registered Nurse, having worked at Georgia Baptist Hospital and Scottish Rite Children's Hospital.  She was a member of Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Debbie was a very godly and loving woman.  She passionately loved her precious Savior, her church, her husband, her family and her friends.  Her grandchildren were the delight of her life.  Debbie was also a mother, grandmother and “Aunt Debbie” to many outside her family as well.  She delighted to minister to those who were hurting.  Debbie’s love extended to all in her community, her country and to the ends of the earth.

Debbie loved God’s beautiful creation, especially flowers, mushrooms, sunsets and mountain scenery.  She was also a talented cake decorator, flower arranger, nature photographer and poet.  She was an avid reader and her expansive knowledge reached into all different disciplines.  She memorized extensive passages of the Bible and knew almost every hymn in the Trinity Hymnal by heart.

Debbie left a lasting imprint on the lives of all who knew her.  She will be dearly missed though we rejoice that she is now in the everlasting arms of her heavenly father.
