STALEY - Frances F. Staley passed away June 22, 2017 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. She was born on September 17, 1918 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to Rev. Thomas Henry and Laura Huddleston Fitzgerald. She graduated from Concord College and taught 4th grade for many years in Fluvanna County, Virginia. She, along with her husband Pollard, lived for over 50 years at Old Orchard in Scottsville, Virginia. She was known for her sense of style and gift of hospitality, which was shared with all who had the privilege to know her. Mrs. Staley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Henry & Liz Staley of Suwanee, Georgia, grandchildren Jamie & Dana Staley of Washington DC, David & Erin Staley of Cumming, Georgia, niece Cynthia Walker of Thurmont, Maryland, niece Jane Paulson of Beckley, West Virginia and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Pollard Leverette Staley and son John Pollard Staley. Visitation will be at Bill Head Funeral Home in Duluth, Georgia Thursday, June 29 from 6-8 p.m., memorial service will be at Duluth First United Methodist Church on Friday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. C. Kay Fuino and graveside service at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Prayer Quilt Ministry at Duluth First UMC, Duluth, Georgia or Scottsville Presbyterian Church in Scottsville, Virginia.
