Margaret Robinson West, 83, of Lawrenceville, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday November 20, 2017. She was surrounded by loved ones as she entered Heaven.
Margaret was born in Delano, Tennessee, a daughter of the late William E. Robinson and Bertha Mae Robinson. Mrs. West graduated from Russell High School in East Point, Georgia then went on to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia where she was a dedicated and hard worker for many years.
Mrs. West was married to the love of her life, the late Alton A. West. The two were active and beloved members of Lilburn First Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. West served as long term missionaries in American Samoa through the North American Mission Board. Together they built apartments for missionary teachers, maintained a library for the mission school and brought the love of Jesus to the Samoan people.
Mrs. West loved sharing Jesus with others. She loved singing praises to her Savior and reading her Bible. Mrs. West was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was very proud of her family. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. Mrs. West was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her sister Ivelyn Hanie (Larry), her children; Brenda Gail Huckabee, Marie Annette Ayers (Jeff), Mark Alton West (Ann), Paul Andrew West (Mandy), her grandchildren; Dale Huckabee, Andrew Ayers, Abigail Hamilton, Mason West, Addison West, Asher West, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, 6101 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, Georgia 30084, on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 pm and the service will begin at 1:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held Saturday November 25, 2017 at the Ruby Mae West Memorial Cemetery, 1082 Sandy Creek Road, Fayetteville, Georgia 30214 at 3:30 pm.
