Nicholas "Nick" BaldwinJuly 22, 1995 ~ November 7, 2017 (age 22)
Nicholas “Nick” Baldwin, age 22, of Colquitt, Georgia, and previously of Lawrenceville, Georgia, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 7, 2017. Nick sustained a brain injury in 2014 that left him permanently disabled, requiring fulltime nursing care. Nick became a resident at Miller County Nursing Home in Colquitt, Georgia, in 2015. His red hair and dynamic smile quickly captivated the hearts of everyone. He previously attended Berkmar and Give West High Schools in Gwinnett County.
He is survived by his mother, Debra Wenndt Baldwin of Lawrenceville, GA; father, Russell Baldwin and Lujuana Braithwaite Olson of West Valley City, UT; brother, Austin Baldwin and Kaitlyn Hawes of Lawrenceville, GA; grandparents, Karen and Lawrence Wenndt of Norcross, GA; grandmother, Fern Long of West Jordan, UT; grandfather, Roger and Susan Baldwin, Sandy, UT; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of loving caregivers at Miller Nursing Home in Colquitt, GA. He was preceded in death by his sister, April Jennifer Baldwin; grandfather, Vaughn Long.
Nicholas was a life-long member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Tucker, Georgia. He was Baptized into the Christian faith on September 10, 1995, and later Confirmed his faith on May 11, 2008. His baptismal sponsors are Rev. Michael and Diana Pfingsten, Sussex, WI, and Paul Wenndt, Stone Mountain, GA.
Nicholas loved to go fishing with anyone who would take him. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his extended family.
Celebration of life services will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockett Road, Tucker, GA 30084, on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 2 pm with fellowship luncheon one hour before the service, Pastor Hiruy Gebremichael, officiating. Interment immediately following funeral at Gwinnett Memorial Park, 925 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm, and 6 to 8 pm, at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, 6101 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084. Funeral attendees are asked to wear a red accessory in memory of Nick.
