George Joseph Lorincz (1928-2018)
George Joseph Lorincz passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018.
He was born August 8, 1928 in Tomhicken, PA, and grew up in East Brunswick, N.J. He was the baby of 10 siblings. His parents migrated to America from Poland. George proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy and was a World War II veteran. He retired from the Tucker Post Office after 27 years.
Upon retiring, George was an avid golfer and sang in the choir at Lilburn First Baptist Church. He spent time with friends and loved to dine out. He had a gentle soul and was loved by many and will be greatly missed for his easy smile and good nature.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Jewel M. Lorincz, who called him Georgie. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Bishop-Woodruff and his faithful companion, Buddy. George was known to ride beside his daughter on her travels and met many people who enjoyed his enthusiasm and warm nature. He never met a stranger and was known by many.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, his daughter requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and PAWS for Vets.
