Harold "Hal" Samons Richard, age 84, of Duluth, died October 20, 2019.
Harold was born in Flint, Michigan on March 26, 1935. He attended Flint Central High School and Flint Junior College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from Valparaiso Technical Institute in 1958. He was employed by NCR Corporation in Dayton, Ohio as an Electronic Engineer where he earned several awards for his patented designs of electronic banking equipment.
Harold was a longtime member of Concord United Methodist Church in Englewood, Ohio and enjoyed singing in the choir. In 1992, he and his wife, Janet, relocated to Lawrenceville, Georgia when AT&T acquired NCR. After a 35 year career, he retired in 1994 and enjoyed traveling with Janet and spending time with their grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Janet; his children, Angie and Chris (Traci); his three grandchildren, Alex, Austin and Colin; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Willow View Cemetery, 2500 Neff Road, Dayton, OH 45414
