Jeannine Wootan, age 87, of Suwanee, GA, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018.
Her burial will be Thursday, September 13, 2018, in Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Rex, GA. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth Chapel.
Born in Waco, TX, raised by a Baptist pastor and married to a Baptist pastor, she spent her life in service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a homemaker, a pastor’s wife, a piano teacher, a choir director, a church pianist & organist and a teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages. In retirement, she was finally able to be the missionary that she felt called to be. Until her health began to decline, she spent her time volunteering with the Georgia Baptist Women’s Missionary Union as well as going on mission trips to Liberia, Ivory Coast, Alaska, France, Germany, Costa Rica, Venezuela, South Korea and Panama.
Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harry P. Wootan, Jr., she is survived by children Harry P. Wootan, III (Debbie) of Pelham, AL, Janis Cornelia Wootan Batson (Brian) of Lawrenceville, GA, John Odell Wootan (Tina) of Tyrone, GA and Daniel Craig Wootan (Shea) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Bonnie Wootan Davidson (Jaime) of Pelham, AL, Michael Hays Batson (Mary) of Sandy Springs, GA, Jennifer Jaracz Fausett (Drew) of Sharpsburg, GA, Robert Stephen Jaracz, Jr., of Atlanta, Aegis Vaughn Shanklin of Dallas, TX and Eryl Torin Shanklin of Rockmart, GA; great grandchildren, Miles Alexander Davidson, Jude Morgan Davidson, Wyatt Andrew Fausett and Elizabeth Glenrose Shanklin.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, as well as following the service at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Duluth Chapel, (770) 476-2535.
