Kimberley Hertweck Leonard, 66, of Suwanee, GA died August 6, 2018.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Duluth First United Methodist Church with Rev. C. Kay Fuino and Rev. David Burchette officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
Mrs. Leonard, a native of Winston Salem, NC, was a member of the Duluth First United Methodist Church where she organized several ministries of the Church in her time including, the Living Christmas Story (a drive thru nativity experience) and the Angel Club (a Church Ministry for Special Needs). She was also a member of the Andone Sunday School Class and participated and taught Disciple Bible Study. She spent her career teaching special needs education where she was also involved with the Special Olympics. Above all these things, she was the most cherished and beloved homemaker, wife, mother and "Grammie" to her family. She was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, GA and the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, FL and loved playing tennis with her many tennis "buddies" and especially, "girls night out".
Preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Hertweck and sister, Jan Hertweck, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jack V. Leonard of Suwanee, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack V. (Jay) Leonard, Jr. and his wife, Lindsay of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joshua Neal Leonard and his wife, Ashley of Duluth, GA; father, Neal Hertweck and his wife, Sarah (Bootsie) of Suwanee, GA; five grandchildren, Jack, Benjamin, Oliver, Charlotte and Kyle.
