William Scott Adams, Jr.

September 22, 1942 ~ July 14, 2019 (age 76)

Somewhere in heaven a golfer stands tall and proud, thanking God for 18 holes and heaven’s finest caddy. That golfer is William “Bill” Adams Jr., who went to join his Heavenly Father and his beloved parents, Roberta “Bobbie” and Bill Adams Sr. on July 14, 2019.

Bill was born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas on September 22, 1942. The big brother to an adoring younger sister, Sondra, Bill lived a life that can be succinctly described as truly blessed. He was a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, where he made lifelong friends that were a constant source of laughs, fun and loyalty through the decades.

Bill married soon after graduation and attended Wharton Business School, during which time he welcomed the first of what would amount to three blessings in his life: his children, Nancy, Allison and William Scott III. A work ethic, Hollywood looks and dry sense of humor were winning tickets for Bill, who took the Adams clan from Texas, to Kansas and eventually to Georgia. It was in the Peach State that Bill grew a successful career with Life of Georgia and eventually met Dee, his wife. Dee brought added blessings to his life – namely, two adoring stepchildren, Molly and Andrew who adored him deeply.

Bill Adams, in short, was anything but run-of-the-mill. He was an avid health nut, who was not afraid to try the latest vitamin craze or run the Peachtree Road Race with his daughter Allison on a whim. He was a connoisseur of restaurants worldwide and could be counted on to recommend the best thing on the menu without missing a beat. Bill had a relentless sense of humor that was part prankster, part irreverence and sometimes at your expense, but it was far from mean-spirited and would always leave you laughing.

It was this aspect of Bill’s personality – his humor – that enabled him to handle illness with grace. He knew his last years would be less than optimal physically, but his attitude remained full of life. It’s what those who knew and loved him will miss most of all and why Bill will be honored with a celebration of life.

Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dee Adams who adored him deeply; his three children: Nancy Adams Fisk (John), Allison Adams, William Scott III (Christine); stepdaughter Molly DeSalvo (Jeff) and stepson Andrew Christman (Brooke); sister Sondra Adams Leatherwood; grandchildren Nicole Kepley, Austin Kepley, Michael Maske, Brandon Maske and Lauren Maske, Davis, Gabrielle and Reese DeSalvo, Coleman and Colton Christman.

A celebration of life will be held at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel, 3088 Duluth Hwy 120, Duluth, GA 30096 on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.. Family, friends, smiles and laughs are welcome!
