We pride ourselves on providng a concierge type of continuity of service.  From the first interaction at the arrangement conference to your loved one's funeral or memorial service until you recieve the final paperwork and follow up you can expect to deal with one funeral director.  They are walking alongside you and your family through every step of the process.

Andrea Head Byers Owner

Born in Gainesville, GA  Andrea grew up in Lilburn and graduated from Berkmar High School.  She attended Dekalb College and Lanier Tech.  Andrea has worked behind the scenes in an administrative role at Bill Head Funeral Homes since 1997.  Her experience in the work force, volunteering and owning a small business are a great resource for her in managing the family business.  Andrea is proud to be serving the same families her Father and Husband have served and folks she has known most of her life.  Excellence and very personalized care are just two of the attributes she is proud to provide to the families served by Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Jesse Byers Operations Manager/ Licensed Apprentice

Jesse grew up in Gwinnett county and is a 2015 graduate of Providence Christian Academy and a 2017 Graduate of North Georgia Technical College.  He graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, TN in May of 2023.  Jesse and his wife Katie live in Loganville with their 3 dogs, Henry, Dakota and Scout.

Steve Wimmer Manager & Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Steve is a native of Durham, North Carolina, and attended Wingate University and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. With almost 30 years of experience, he has been employed with Bill Head Funeral Home since 1991. Steve and his wife Betsy are members of St. Monica's Catholic Church and are active in the Duluth Community.  Steve has coached baseball and basketball at Shorty Howell and Bunten Road parks.  They have 8 children and four grandchildren.  Steve enjoys playing Frisbee Golf and spending time with his family.

Tony is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and attended Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. With almost 25 years of experience, he has been employed with Bill Head Funeral Home since 1999. Tony has one son, Will and enjoys boating with family and friends on Lake Lanier near his home.

Jimmie Lewis Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Jimmie is a native of Atlanta and attended Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science.  Having grown up in the funeral business and with over 30 years of experience, Jimmie has been employed with Bill Head Funeral Home since the beginning of 2013. Jimmie has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.  He is a former athelete, and has coached his children in sports over the years.  He currnetly enjoys watching his grandchildren compete, along with the Falcons, Braves and Bulldogs.  On his weekends off you might find him at the grill cooking up something delicious.

Bobby Coker Funeral Assistant

Bobby is a native of Brookhaven, Georgia, and attended Dekalb College. He works assisting in all areas of the funeral home. Bobby has been employed with Bill Head Funeral Home since 1999. Bobby is married to his wife Judy, a Duluth native.  Bobby enjoys watching sports and NASCAR with his dog, Reese and traveling to the mountains and the beach with family and friends.

Kathy is a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia and has been employed with Bill Head Funeral Home since 2009.  She handles most things office related and is in charge of digital media such as video tributes and all print media. Kathy and her husband, Tom have 2 children.

Rob Leatherwood Certified Crematory Operator/ Funeral Assistant

Rob joins our staff after 30 years of managing a large retail business following his service in the US Air Force. He is the father of 3 girls and enjoys spending time with them, his wife and his boston terriers. His attention to detail and compassion are great assets to Bill Head Funeral Homes and the families we serve.

Jessie J. Flowers Licensed Apprentice

Jessie comes to us with experience in the funeral industry and some of her required education to become a licensed Funeral Director. She has attended Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science, and plans to return soon to finish up.  Jessie works full time for the City of Duluth Police Department and part time at the Duluth and Tucker Chapels.  She and her husband Neal are expecting grandchildren number 13, 14 and 15 in the summer of 2023.  She is a busy lady, but not too busy to help make the funeral experience a little easier for our families.

Keith Byers IN LOVING MEMORY

Keith Byers August 12,1965-December 10,2020  Keith and his wife Andrea were co-owners of Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory since 2013.  He passed away unexpectedly on December 10,2020.

Keith was a native of Lilburn, Georgia, a 1983 graduate of Berkmar High and attended Georgia State University and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. He worked in the funeral industry for over 30 years and was employed with Bill Head Funeral Home since 1995.  He was instrumental in bringing new technology and ideas to the business.  He was a stickler for details which served him well in running the business. 

Keith was an amazing Dad to his two children, Jesse and Emily.  Both played very competitive baseball and softball respectively.  Keith coached them both for many years and was in his happy place on the ballfield.  He was involved at Lilburn Lions Club Park and was part of the group of leaders and coaches who brought competitive travel softball to Lilburn.  He impacted the lives of a lot of young men and ladies through coaching.  

Keith loved, hunting, fishing, boating on Lake Oconee, NASCAR racing, classic rock & real country music and spending time with his friends and family.  He is sorely missed by the staff and families he has served at Bill Head Funeral Homes.  Thanks to his keen business management  he left the company on very solid ground.   His legacy is being carried on by his wife, Andrea Head- Byers and his son, Jesse Byers.

Bill and Carole Head Founders & Funeral Director Emeritus

Bill and Carole are natives of Gainesville, Georgia. Bill attended Young Harris College and Gainesville College. He has worked in the funeral industry for over 60 years. After working in Gainesville for many years, he was co-owner of R.T. Patterson Funeral Home in Norcross and Lilburn from 1979 until 1990 when he purchased the Duluth Chapel and began Bill Head Funeral Home, Inc.

In 2013 Bill and Carole sold the business to their daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Keith Byers.  Bill begann working less and eventually retired to care for Carole as she dealt with several chronic health conditions until her passing in October of 2021.  The legacy and high standards that Bill and Carole set forth are being carried on by daughter Andrea and grandson Jesse.  Three generations proudly serving Gwinnett and the surrounding areas.
