Betty Lou McCauley, age 89, of Norcross, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
Betty was born on January 10, 1930 to Ernest White and Irene Hudgins in Menlo, Georgia, and had three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James McCauley; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jeff Kirves; daughter, Vicki McCauley; granddaughter, Lindsay Byers and her husband, U.S. Army Captain Joshua Byers; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Zachary and Makenzie Byers; and sister, Sadie Roden.
Betty was a long time member of Glover Baptist Church in Norcross and later, Rock Bridge Baptist Church. She was primarily a homemaker and worked several years for Macy’s and for Spiegel Catalog.
Betty was an avid gardener and enjoyed creating lovely outdoor flower gardens and growing vegetables. She loved the arrival of springtime when she could work outside and play with her granddogs. She enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles and excelled at bowling, bringing home many trophies through the years. Her sweet, generous spirit and love of laughter were enjoyed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Rock Bridge Baptist Church, 1012 Rockbridge Road NW, Norcross with Dr. Greg Cruce and Dr. Bill Cordrey officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 6, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
