Harry Joseph Coffman

July 24, 1928 ~ April 26, 2019 (age 90)

Harry Joseph Coffman, 90, died Friday, April 26, 2019, while residing at Addington Place of Johns Creek, GA. 

He leaves his wife Carolyn (Caldwell) of 65 years; his sons, Kevin (Marsha) and Christian (Jill) Coffman; grandchildren, Lydia, Caleb, Larry (Jen), Scott (Marci) and Russ (preceded in death); great grandchildren, Anthony, Clayton, Riley and Jase.

Born in Thorntown, Indiana, to George and Frances Coffman, Harry had 7 siblings.  Survived by George “Bud” (Katie) Coffman, Dale (Linda) Coffman, Evie (Tom) Williams and Jenny Coffman.  He was preceded in death by Alice, John and Connie.

After his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he married Carolyn.  The couple moved to Cincinnati, Ohio when he became employed with Clark Oil Refining Corporation where he worked for the rest of his career.  Upon retirement, they moved to West Chester, OH, where they lived until relocating to Johns Creek, GA.

Harry treasured his wife, family, and above all, his relationship with Christ.  A steadfast Christian, he lived his life in simplicity, never wavering from his faith.  He possessed great strength, patience, gentleness and loyalty.  Blessed with a contagious positive attitude, he was thankful for every new day.  He led by example and those around him were blessed with his presence. 

A graveside service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1832 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth GA 30096 on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM.  A celebration of life memorial will be held at Addington Place of Johns Creek, 5050 Kimball Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30005 on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM where he and his wife Carolyn reside.
