Louis Charles Oswald, 86, of Tucker, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his home.
Mr. Oswald was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 13, 1933. He graduated from Orleans High in 1951 and joined the Navy in April of 1952 where he served until February of 1954. He began working for Conoco Oil Company where he met and married the love of his life in 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas. He and his wife moved to St. Louis, Missouri until his transfer to Roswell, NM in 1960. In 1969, they moved to Atlanta, GA where he worked for Credit Bureau Reports, Inc.. He left CBR in 1988 and went to work for TransUnion. He retired in 1993 and enjoyed traveling around the country extensively with his wife.
Mr. Oswald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Thelma Jenkins Oswald of Tucker; son, Nick Oswald and his wife Cathy of Buford, GA; daughters, Theresa Ratje and her husband Dave of Greenville, SC, Trudy Blackwell of Tucker and Tracey Rae and her husband Shawn of Cumming, GA; seven grandchildren.
Mr. Oswald was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
The service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January, 10, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3773 Chamblee Tucker Road, Atlanta, GA 30341.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346, www.alz.org/georgia in honor of his loving wife.
