Malcolm Wigand Heckman, age 78, of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on Sunday April 29, 2018.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday May 5th at All Saints Lutheran Church - 722 Rockbridge Rd SW, Lilburn, GA 30047 - with the Rev. Kim A Stover officiating.
Born in Syracuse, NY, Malcolm worked at Mack Trucks in Allentown PA for 25 years. Also, he was a small business owner in Wildwood, NJ for 12 years. He was President of the Greater Wildwood Hotel/Motel Association and President of the Allentown Jaycees. He was a member of several coin clubs and enjoyed collecting rare Byzantine coins. He received the Nettleship Award for outstanding service to the NJ Numismatic Society. Additionally, for many years he published the “Classical Coin Newsletter.” His hobbies included investing, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Joanne Joy (Hunsicker) Heckman of Stone Mountain; six children Douglass (wife Patricia) of Peachtree Corners, GA; Lynn Ramirez (husband Steven) of Simpsonville, SC; Susan O’Hara (husband Thomas) of Southport, CT; David (wife Robin) of Hampton, GA; Jeffrey of Deptford, NJ; and Andrew (wife Sandra) of Powder Springs, GA. A daughter, Katherine DeVaull-Nemeth and a grandson predeceased the passing of Malcolm. There are 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mal has one brother Ronald (wife Pamela) of Emmaus, PA.
